Grant moved to Marlborough in 2007 from Northland. Marlborough has so much to offer in the way of scenery, bush walks, and exploring the Marlborough sounds.

Grant works in the wine industry and he started his photography journey using a couple of different point and shoot cameras, then thinking mobile phone technology had improved, he used a mobile phone for photography.

Late 2019 Grant purchased a Sony A6100 mirrorless camera, there was a lot to learn not just with the camera but how to take great photos.

Grant did a lot of online photography courses on LinkedIn Learning, and he also joined the Marlborough Camera Club and over a two-year period progressed from C grade to A grade.

Grant's work focuses on landscapes, seascapes, and macro photography and Grant tries to get out and photograph as much as he can and regularly visits the same spots throughout the year
