Email Privacy & Marketing Policy

1. Types of Email Communications

When you interact with Grant Udy Photos, you may receive two distinct types of emails:

  • Transactional Emails: Necessary communications regarding your purchases, such as order receipts, digital download links, shipping tracking, or account updates. You cannot opt out of transactional emails as they are required to fulfill your order.

  • Marketing & Newsletter Emails: Promotional updates, photography release announcements, special offers, or blog updates. We will only send you marketing communications if you have explicitly opted in (for example, via our website signup form or by checking an opt in box during checkout).

2. Consent & Opt In Compliance

In accordance with the New Zealand Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007, the EU GDPR, and international anti-spam laws, we strictly enforce permission based email marketing. We do not buy, rent, or trade email lists, nor do we add order customers to marketing lists without express consent.

3. Unsubscribing & Opting Out

You have complete control over your marketing preferences at all times. Every marketing email we send includes a clear "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom.

  • Clicking this link will instantly remove your email address from our marketing distribution list.

  • Alternatively, you can email us directly at info@grantudyphotos.com to request manual removal.

4. How Your Email Data Is Stored & Processed

Your email address and contact details are stored securely. To deliver our communications, we share necessary email details with trusted third party Email Service Providers (ESPs):

  • Squarespace Email Campaigns for mailing list management and newsletter delivery.

  • Squarespace / Stripe for sending automated order receipts and transactional updates.

These providers process your data strictly under confidentiality agreements and are prohibited from using your email address for their own marketing purposes.

5. Email Analytics & Tracking

Our marketing emails may contain embedded web beacons or pixel tags to measure campaign effectiveness (e.g., whether an email was opened or which photo links were clicked). This helps us improve our photography updates and deliver content that interests our subscribers.
